Isaiah Joseph,

The rest of our stuff came today. The house is a complete wreck, yet a little bit put together. Don’t ask about the garage, the garage will never be functional again. I usually take a long time, months actually, to get everything unpacked, but hope this time it’s faster.

They brought “your” bike, also known as Ellie’s bike today. For whatever reason, the movers took the handlebars off and the front wheel. I went upstairs and asked one of the movers if they could put it back together before they left. They said they could, but the back had a flat tire. I told them I’m not going to use it, but you were the last one to use it and I’m now emotionally attached to it. They asked no questions and put it back together before they left.

I worked in your room tonight. I got your bed set up and put your clothes in the dresser. I also hung up your creeper picture I painted for you above your dresser and the Reuben one above the cube shelf, just like you had it. I put up a net in the corner and put a lot of your stuffed animals on there. The really special stuffed animals of yours that I brought on the plane, will be on your bed. I’m not putting your Minecraft blanket back on, though. Elijah wants to keep it and says that’s the part of you that he has. Instead, I put Elijah’s old Pokemon blanket on that was actually yours in the first place. I your snail and flower pot that you painted are on your cube shelf exactly where you had it and tomorrow I will put up your drawing of you and the kite. I also put in the one carpet that Miss Courtney had given us. She said it was Carson’s and the original plan was to put it in your room last summer as a reminder of your best friend. It belongs in your room.

As I’m telling you about your room, I’m wondering if what I’m doing is “okay”. I don’t care if it’s not, because I’m still going to do it. Putting everything right where you had it just brings me so much comfort. I feel like by doing that, I will feel much closer to you just by laying in there.

I will show you a picture when it’s somewhat finished, but I have to find all your belongings first. Like I said yesterday, they didn’t label any boxes. If they are labeled, they are incorrect.

I also put your urn back out on the table that it was on before we moved. It’s there next to your pictures, on that little sparkly gold thing. I didn’t like having you in my room because your siblings couldn’t just stop and talk to you each time they walked by. I will say, the Lego family tree is a mess. They just threw it in a box with a whole bunch of random things and the pieces are everywhere. I will get it back together for you. I also started making our Lego flowers for you with your brothers. I’m going to be completely honest, what you think would be ridiculously easy is actually more complicated. You probably wouldn’t have a problem, but I’ve questioned my building abilities and my ability to read and understand directions.

I’m going to get some sleep, baby. I love you more than anything, sweetie. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
