Hi sweetie,
Hi sweetie,
The boys channeled you today in their play. It rained a lot today, so they did two of your favorite activities in the rain. First, they went outside with their aluminum foil boats to save any cockroaches they could find out in the puddles. They saved a few, but apparently Elijah’s one boat sank while attempting to save a particular cockroach. After they were done with that, they of course went over to check and see if the ditch was filled. It wasn’t as deep as it could get, but there was still a decent stream going through it. They did jump over it a few times, but most of their time was spent trying to get fruit to float down the stream. Both these activities are thanks to you and your ideas. However, Lucas and Elijah used a plastic baggie for their fruit and I’m pretty sure you would put yours on an aluminum foil boat. So the blueberry and raspberry were fine in the bags, but they didn’t go sailing.
I got the fall and Halloween decorations down today. Well, all of them except for the random spider and spider web outside. They’ve been up since the day after your birthday? I feel like three and a half months is enough. I started to open random Christmas bins, but really didn’t get anything out yet. I did take out the one angel I found and put it over by your urn. I’m also going to put your dancing snowman there when I find it.
I texted Miss Courtney today to ask her a question I already know the answer to. She was essentially a second mom for the last year you were with us. I wanted to see if she thought you knew how much I loved you before you passed. I know you did, I don’t know why I ask. I think I ask because there’s that doubt of “what if” that I can never change. I miss just walking into her house to talk to her while you look at me with the “what are you doing here?” look. She always looked out for you. She even looked out for you with pointless things like telling you to hide the rolls she gave you so you wouldn’t have to share.
We have Kids Hurt Too this Thursday. The drive down to Chinatown is a little annoying, but it’s all worth it in the end. Your siblings cheered when I told them we were going on Thursday.
I’ve got to go put the boys to bed. They are managing to find new “cuts” they need bandaids for and are asking so many questions about the most random things. Ellie will fight having to go to bed, so nothing has changed over here. I love you so much, my baby. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
