Isaiah Joseph,

It’s late and we have another longer day tomorrow, so I’m going to make this one quicker.

The universe seemed to know what I needed this weekend. It’s funny, because it’s actually the weekend that the Let Grace In Retreat is happening on Oahu. I’d give anything to be there with them, but I will take my great day in Pennsylvania.

Elijah had a soccer game this morning. His team lost, but they scored their first two goals this season in their game today, the fifth of the season. I think it was the first game they played that seemed like a “game”, it was nice. Elijah did well and had fun, he just needs a little more of your “attack” mentality on defense.

In the afternoon, we met up with my friends Jacki, Aaron, and their two boys at the park. Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how much I needed that. It definitely filled up my cup that has been alarmingly empty.

At night, we went to the haunted trail with Aunt Cait and Uncle Alec. The kids got some candy and managed to make it through the scary decorations. The only one who was a weary about some of the decorations was Lucas, everyone else seemed fine. At the end of the trail, we got to take a hay ride back to where our van was parked. I was excited about the hay ride because we tried standing in line for the one at the Hay Day Celebration thing last weekend and it would have taken well over an hour.

We ended up stopping over Aunt Cait’s and Uncle Alec’s after and they made s’mores with Halloween peeps, played shirtless superheroes, and caused some chaos.

Tonight before bed, I ruined your brothers’ lives. Tomorrow we have the organ donation remembrance ceremony and I told your siblings they had to put a little effort into their clothes. Oh my goodness, you would have thought I told them they were grounded for a year. Elijah cried and threw the biggest fit because I told him he couldn’t wear gym shorts and he was mad because he just “wanted to be comfortable”. I asked Lucas to wear just a plain t-shirt and not one with characters on it and he was not happy. He wanted to wear a shirt with turtles in it, but I told him to wear a plain red shirt. I’m not sure if you were around to hear the crying and craziness, but all I could do was laugh, it was absolutely ridiculous. It reminded me of your 100th day of school in Pre-K and I asked you if you wanted to dress like an “old man” and told you you’d have to wear jeans. You had no idea what jeans were and as soon as I showed you a pair, you said you were no longer interested in dressing like an old man. I get it, they aren’t always comfortable.

Baby, I love you more than anything. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
