My baby boy,
Today was National Child Grief Awareness Day and we went to The Caring Place for their open house. As usual, they went above and beyond and your siblings had a great time.
When we got there, we got to eat dinner. As a mom, this is honestly one of my favorite things that anyone could ever provide us with. If there’s a day where I don’t need to figure out what we are having for dinner and cook it, I’m more than happy.
They had different activities set up for the kids in every single room. There was a photo booth with props, face painting and airbrush tattoos, screen printing t-shirts, butterfly sand art, journal making, button making, several different crafts, a caricature artist, and a few other activities that your siblings weren’t as interested in.
In one of the rooms, they had spray paint out and they could go in and just graffiti the wall. Elijah absolutely loved this room and spent the most time in there out of any of your siblings. Lucas tagged the wall with Titanic things, Ellie wrote your name, I wrote your initials, and Elijah did a lot of random things.
The workers and volunteers there remember our family by name and each and every time we do anything with that organization I find myself being so grateful for them.
I wasn’t able to find where your quilt was hanging while I was there. I think it might have been in one of the activity rooms, but they had individual activities going on in those rooms so I didn’t get a chance to see if it was there.
I love you more than anything, my baby boy. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
