My baby boy,

Lucas had his first day at his new school today. He was nervous, but a good nervous. It was more of an excited nervous and not a crying nervous. He kept asking me why he was nervous and I told him it’s completely normal that he is. It’s a new place, new people, new experience..who wouldn’t be nervous? I told him I still get nervous each time we move and I’m thrown into a new situation with a bunch of people I don’t know.

When I picked him up, I stared at his face as he came out the door. He seemed serious, but not sad or eager to get out of there. As soon as he saw me and Elijah, he smiled. He had a great day at school! Actually, he told us that he “liked school”. I cannot tell you the relief that I got after hearing that. He also got a sportsmanship award in gym class today and got a little football. He was also laughing about how everyone wanted to sit by him at lunch and tag him at recess.
Daddy and I both told him how proud we are of him.

Before I dropped him off this morning, I told him that I’m sure you would be checking in on him and then told him again that you’d be with him for his day.

Our household goods have finally made it to Pittsburgh and should be delivered on Wednesday. I say “should” because they needed to be emailed back within a certain amount of time, but they sent the email just to daddy. With him being six hours behind us, by the time he was it and told me, I called and the lady was gone. I technically emailed her back within the required time, but we shall see. No matter what, I think we will get our stuff this week.
