Hi baby,
I forgot to tell you, while I was folding and putting your clothes away yesterday I found your random gray latex glove that you filled with water and had tied at the end. In your top drawer? I’m sure I made that because you asked and said “we are not keeping this”, which is why you put it in your top drawer.
You got a birthday card in the mail from Beenie and her family. It was Minecraft and you could build your own creeper with it. No doubt in my mind you would have built that creeper right away. She also sent me a card and talked about how while she was in the store, she heard a mom telling her son, Isaiah, to sit down. You fell out of the shopping cart once in Missouri. My excellent “mom skills” caught you. Honestly, my reflexes aren’t the best so I don’t know how I did it. I think you were like three? Anyway, you apparently really wanted to get the sprinkles that were displayed. I caught you upside down. That’s the kind of child you were. I took your siblings to the arts and crafts center today to paint. I missed you. We saw that odd fish that you painted (is it a cup? I have no idea) and your snail with the flower pot. Elijah painted another monk seal bank, Lucas painted a large pot, and Ellie painted a bunny blue with pink flowers on it. It turned out really well. I started painting a butterfly to put in your garden. I made the butterfly’s body red for you. I only finished half of it today, so I will have to go back myself to finish the rest. Ellie and Lucas painted for over an hour, Elijah was done after a solid fifteen minutes. He decided the rest of the time to complain that he didn’t want to be there and to fake sleep in his chair.
I love you so much, buddy. I promise to try my best to help your siblings through this. We have another Kids Hurt Too Hawaii meeting tomorrow. This one will be all kids who’ve lost someone. They’re excited to go again, which makes me so happy. They were a tad disappointed last time because I told them there were snacks, but there were no snacks. You know how disappointing a lack of snacks can be. I hope you can look down and check on your siblings. Ellie wrote another letter to you today. To sum it up, she misses you so much and wishes we could all come up there and visit for a day. I would give anything for a little time with you. I love you more than anything. Goodnight and sweet dreams, baby. I hope you are happy up there.
