I went back and read my past posts only to read that two of them had the infamous saying of how “military kids will say goodbye to more significant people by the age of 18 than most people do in a lifetime”.

That saying now holds a new kind of weight. In life, many people stay in one or two places and grow up with the same group of people, but you guys didn’t do that. With how life works, you would expect that your children would eventually have to navigate through losing a loved one, but always someone much older.

Ellie, Lucas, and Elijah had to say “goodbye” to you, how screwed up is that?
