My Isaiah Joseph,
It was a busy day. After I dropped Ellie and Elijah off at school we went to Lucas’ school for a tour. Although Lucas only said the word “okay” at the tour, I think he likes his school. I shouldn’t even say that he “said” okay. He more or less whispered it under his breath while not looking at a single person talking to him. I know it’s a lot for him, but I think he left a little excited. They actually have a playground that they will get to play on at recess. He also extremely excited about them serving “hot dog on a bun” at lunch on his first day. I think he will do great, he’s just the one I worry about most with all these changes.
After dinner, we went to an open house at Elijah’s Pre-K. Although he’s only been there for four days, he had quite a few art projects to show us. A teacher that is only in his class two days a week approached me at the open house. She told me what an amazing, mature, and “angelic” boy Elijah is. As much as I loved hearing that, I had to ask her if he had mentioned you. He did. His safe place in Hawaii to talk openly about you was at school, I was worried the move would take that outlet away from him. However, he has taken it to his new school and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
You guys are all amazing humans. Each day I am amazed at the kindness and empathy that you all show. There’s obviously a lot of chaos thrown in there, but you’re all kids, that’s what you’re supposed to do. I love you more than anything, baby. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
