My baby boy,
This coming Tuesday at the Caring Place, we are going to put together your quilt square. At the end of our last meetup, I admitted how the entire thing was stressing me out. I didn’t want to go through my pictures because it was tough, but I needed to have pictures on the quilt square for my own needs.
I still had yet to take the square to one of the printers yet with the pictures and in the back of my mind I was stressing about it. I was running out of time, yet still making no moves.
I got a message from the head lady at the Caring Place today asking if I needed any help with the quilt square and getting it to the printer. It was a huge relief and like she somehow could read my mind and knew that I was struggling. I went ahead and sent her five pictures, she’s going to send them to the printer, and the quilt square will be ready for us to finish on Tuesday.
I picked five different pictures for the quilt square. I chose your school picture from second grade, your one soccer picture we have framed, the picture of you and your Lego Santa, the one of you and your Super Eagle award, and then a picture of you holding a piece of pizza. I felt like these pictures not only showcased how handsome you were, but they also included some of your most important qualities and interests. The pictures help show your love for Legos, love for soccer, appreciation for pizza, and even showed some of your style to include your aloha shirt and that Rakuten soccer jersey that you wore all the time. As an added bonus, people get a glimpse into what a kind and respectful young man that you were.
I want people to learn about you from your quilt square. I’m so proud of you and the amazing boy you were to everyone. I love you more than anything, baby. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
